چکیده
Studies on the characteristics of hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) in emissions medium-duty diesel trucks are significantly insufficient compared to those heavy-duty trucks. This study investigated regulated and HAPs, such as volatile organic compounds (VOCs), aldehydes, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), estimated non-methane hydrocarbon (NMHC) speciation Ten conforming Euros 5 6 were tested for four various driving cycles (WLTC, NEDC, CVS-75, NIER-9) using a chassis dynamometer. In an urban area Seoul, CO NMHC increased because its longer low-speed time. NOx highest high-speed phase owing influence thermal NOx. PM almost not emitted DPF installation. Alkanes dominated compound (NMVOC) emissions, 36–63% which resulted from low reaction oxidation catalyst. Formaldehyde 35–53% among aldehydes irrespective cycles. By sampling particle-phase PAHs, we detected benzo(k)fluoranthene benzo(a)pyrene concentrations gas-phase PAHs with models obtain total PAH concentrations. particle portion, over 69% 91%, respectively. The toxic equivalency quantities NIER-9 (cold) both Euro vehicles more than five times higher NIER (hot) NEDC. case speciation, formaldehyde 10–45% all benzene must be controlled reduce their health threats. results this will aid establishing national emission inventory system HAPs mobile sources Korea.

Measurement of Emissions from Air Pollution Sources. 2. C1 through C30 Organic Compounds from Medium Duty Diesel Trucks
Gasand particle-phase tailpipe emissions from latemodel medium duty diesel trucks are quantified using a twostage dilution source sampling system. The diesel trucks are driven through the hot-start Federal Test Procedure (FTP) urban driving cycle on a transient chassis dynamometer. Emission rates of 52 gas-phase volatile hydrocarbons, 67 semivolatile and 28 particle-phase organic compounds, and...
متن کاملEmission Rates of Air Pollutants Exhausted from Railroad Diesel Engines
It is widely known that the railroad diesel locomotive engines emit significant amount of air pollutants. However, these engines are not equipped with any air pollutants reducing devices in Korea, resulting in the accumulative air pollution near the railroad. Because the pollutants emission from driving locomotive engines cannot be measured directly, the emission factors based on the amount of ...
متن کاملTRB 08-1311 Link-Based Emission Factors for Heavy-Duty Diesel Trucks Based on Real-World Data
Heavy-duty diesel vehicles contribute a substantial fraction of nitrogen oxides and particulate matter to on-road vehicle emission inventory. The objectives of this study are to estimate roadway link-based emission rates for heavy-duty trucks for use in emission inventory estimation, and to quantify the impact of factors affecting truck emissions. A speed-acceleration modal emissions approach i...
متن کاملQuantifying on-road emissions from gasoline-powered motor vehicles: accounting for the presence of medium- and heavy-duty diesel trucks.
Vehicle emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx), carbon monoxide (CO), fine particulate matter (PM2.5), organic aerosol (OA), and black carbon (BC) were measured at the Caldecott tunnel in the San Francisco Bay Area. Measurements were made in bore 2 of the tunnel, where light-duty (LD) vehicles accounted for >99% of total traffic and heavy-duty trucks were not allowed. Prior emission studies conduct...
